Sweet Sweet Baby

Trunk or Treat in Bankies car at church

sooo close to rolling over...this picture doesnt show it, but she is almost able to

Annabelle is growing growing growing. She "talks" all the time and is so awesome to be around. I can't believe she is 4 months old already. I swear she stares at whoever will look at her waiting for you to smile so she can smile back. Such a joy to have in our family..She is already wearing 3-6 month clothing and can fit some onesies that are 9 months! yikes. Cant wait to take her to the doctor to see how much she weighs. She sleeps through the night for the most part 9p-530a or so...then she goes back to bed...sometimes until 9 am but its usually around 8 or so. Cant beat that!

Change in temperature

When we left the house the morning of vacation it was 42 degrees...when we arrived in Alabama it was 89 degrees! I had to change Belle right when we arrived...she was happy happy to be out of the car!

Stretching

We stopped every 2 1/2 hours or so to let Belle and Lola have a stretch and to change Belle's diaper...

2 month checkup

Belle had her two month check up...She weighs 12 lbs 11 oz. She got three shots...she cried, but as soon as I picked her up she was over it...so brave! I managed to not cry at all surprisingly! Still continues to be a great baby and such a joy to have in our lives... Always smiling, unless it's time to eat, of course! She tries to roll over, but only gets to her side...can't believe how time is flying with her! She will be three months old very soon...doesn't seem possible. She is pretty much sleeping through the night. She wakes up anytime between 4-6 am for a bottle and then she's back down most mornings until 9 am when we wake up.

Do they...or don't they...

look alike...? Everyone keeps telling me that they look/looked the exact same...I definitely see the resemblence, but I've said since they were born that they don't look exactly alike. Definitely sisters...but not totally alike. They are both around 8 weeks in both pictures.

Doing it all for my baby...

We got our flu shots today. First time for both of us, but the recommendation was pretty clear with a new baby in the house who can't be vaccinated. We were also told to limit trips in crowded places and have people sanitize their hands before holding. Lots of fun...! oh and no I don't have black eyes...it's lack of sleep!!!

Trying

to catch a smile...

Belle's bff

My friend Shannon and I were due a week apart. She had her daughter, Amanda, 5 weeks early. Belle. of course, was 4 days late. Kinda creepy they weighed the same at birth, 8lbs 4ozs, even with the difference of being early/late!

One Month Old

Belle is officially a month old! Can't believe it's true. No pictures because I'm still without a laptop. She went to the doctor today though...and she is 10 lbs 5 oz!!!! WOW. I knew she was getting heavy and she can only wear 0-3 mos clothing now, but I never expected her to weigh that much! They also said she measured 22 inches long. Big girl!

Belle's Birth Story

Finally getting around to typing this out...it's more for me and as a memory for Belle, but you may read if you would like!

The end of my pregnancy and the birth of our little girl should have been July 14th, 2009. I was scheduled for an induction that I didn't really think would happen on the 18th of July. The days passed slowly and I realized the morning of July 18th that I indeed was going to be induced.

Rob and Lori got to our house at 630 am to wait for Lola to wake up while Dustin and I headed to the hospital. Oh, but wait, we were LATE because Dustin really had the audacity to ask me to stop at McDonald's "on the way"...because you know McDonald's is NEVER "out of the way". After all...he wasn't sure when the next time he would be able to eat would be. My mom had followed us this whole time because she wanted to be able to arrive at the hospital when we got there. I remember pulling into McD's and her calling me on my cell phone and saying "you aren't serious?!" Yes, we were. After watching Dustin eat his McD's breakfast, we were within sight of the hospital...I was driving...and a bird flew into the windshield of the car. I knew at that moment something...would happen. I felt so bad about the bird, but chose to suck it up. I can't remember if Dustin or my mom or the nurse said that something had to die for something to be born. HA...(or I would experience a horrible birth injury and the longest 12 hours of my life after her delivery!)

I checked into the hospital without any issues. Got to my room...noticed the flat screen tv and thought who in the world could watch tv while in labor? Dr Genaris came in and told me how the induction would go...Pill in the cervix, hope for contractions and progress and pitocin would follow if none of the above happened. Induction started at exactly 730 am.

I knew the instant the contractions started, but they were very tolerable...at first. Family started arriving and my mind was off of the contractions for awhile. The Dr came back in at 1030 to check my cervix and I was at 3 cm. I had thought my water had broken, but wasn't sure. I asked him to check and sure enough it had started to, but didn't fully rupture. He ruptured it then the rest of the way. He asked me about the epidural and by that time my contractions had really started and I decided to go ahead and get the epidural before they got too bad. (the control freak in me) The epidural was in place and working before 11. At that point, I was at 5-6 cm. Very good progress, but I was still expecting to be in labor for quite awhile.

After the epidural, I felt really calm and relaxed and ready to hang with our family until it was go time. Annabelle's heartbeat started to drop and they immediately put an internal monitor on her to make sure things stayed ok. I was scared at that point for the baby, but was reassured by my family that things were ok. The internal monitor wasn't working all that well. The doctor came back in and at the time I didn't realize was checking my blood pressure. Evidently, it was extremely low and they were thinking about prepping me for a c-section (which I was very adamant about not having) The doctor told me that since it was my second baby and I was progressing that he would see what happened unless her heartbeat and my blood pressure went too low.

The next thing I remember was talking to the nurse and feeling a lot of pressure. I asked the nurse practitioner that had stopped by if that was normal. She told me it was just the contractions. I waited a little while longer and realized that she was so totally wrong. I pretty much knew that Belle was on her way then, but asked to be checked anyway. A different nurse checked me and I was 10 cm and ready to go. PS this was at around 1150 am. The doctor came in and just like the movies shouted "Is her husband somewhere?? Um...where is her husband??" Dustin had been in the hallway saying it was time. I had 3 sets of pushes. Miss Annabelle was born at 12:08 pm. Gorgeous and perfectly pink. And yes...it really was that easy...

We feel so blessed to have in our lives...she is a good baby. Sweet and cute and I SWEAR she's been smiling for real since she was two weeks old. I know I'm crazy, but even others have seen her do it. It does take some coaxing, but she definitely does. We look forward to watching her grow!

She's Here!

Miss Annabelle Laine made her appearence on July 18th at 12:08 pm...After only 4 hours and 38 minutes of labor! She weighed a healthy 8lbs 4oz and is 20 inches long. We are so excited about her arrival and will post more pictures when we get home tomorrow!

STILL pregnant

As most of you know, I went to the doctor yesterday. Still 2 cm... Annabelle has less than 48 hours before I am induced. Praying that I go on my own before then, but if not atleast it's all almost over!

Doctor Appt

I went to the doctor today. Two cm dilated...wish he would have said TEN...Two is better than none atleast. When I got to the hospital, when I was in labor with Lo, I was only two cm so atleast I'm further along starting than last time...has to be a good sign, right? If I don't have her by my due date (July 14th) I will be induced probably on the 18th. There is an end in sight!

Hmm...

Found this somewhere and thought how amazingly funny/true it is!

To the above tenant in possession of below described premises:

I am issuing a 14 day notice for EVICTION. You will have 14 days in which you can either gather your belongings and promptly vacate the premises, or wait until the final day. After which, you will be physically removed from the property. You are being evicted due to breech of contract and destruction of property. Expansions only to the FRONT of the house, within reasonable limits, were discussed. Not only have these limits been exceeded, but additions to the back of the house were also made! Remodeling and gutting of the home was never approved, nor was changing the initial layout and base structure. And due to property damage, there are now leaks in both the upper AND lower levels of the home. On top of which, the landlord has received numerous complaints about nightly disturbances. After 14 days from this day that you don't comply with the notice will result in immediate and forceful removal at my discretion. Thank you for your cooperation...

Love,
Your mama to be

2 weeks!

Belle should be here in about two weeks! We are getting more and more excited as the time nears. It's still unbelievable that we are having a baby! Lola seems to be pretty excited, but we all know how that goes. She says she's going to rock her and feed her and then Annabelle will go to sleep! Ha, if it were only that easy....Need to upload pics of the nursery. It's still not finished...bottles aren't sanitized, clothes aren't washed, bags aren't packed (mine, Lo's or Annabelle's) Wow, I have a lot to do. My doctor has said that if I don't go into labor before my due date he will go ahead and induce me as long as my body is ready. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I know that I am ready for her to be here. The reason behind it being that the doctor is relocating five days after my due date. We shall see!

Annabelle's 3d/4d ultrasound

We went to Indy to have a 3d/4d ultrasound done in May. Here is our little Annabelle! Can't wait to meet her. It's a picture of a picture so the quality isn't that great, but you get the idea.
Her room is almost finished and most of the shopping is done...we have a few last minute things to do and we will be prepared as we can get!
